DataAssist not recognizing template based page

Hi All,

I have had this issue many times before and it was apparently fixed in VER: 2.03. I now have 2.06 and it appears as it is back to the same old tricks. When first applying DA, I like to call the pages something other than what DA wants to call them. So, I create my first page, for example, members.php and then point DA to this when it asks where to put the results page. It complains that the page is not based on the selected template and refuses to use it. However, this page was definitely created from the template.

What's up with this and how do I get around this very annoying problem.

Additional annoying problem

Here is another annoying problem that perhaps someone has some insight into this.

When you simply accept the default page assignments from DataAssist, you also pick the editable region you want the interface inserted in to. Why is it that DA never puts the code into that editable region? It always puts it at the end of the page. Really annoying as you then have to go to every page and move the code.

Anyone have a fix for this?

I'm having trouble getting the results you are reporting. With version 2.0.6 using a SiteAssist template I first created the pages from this template, then in the DataAssist wizard I specified this template and the pages that I had already created. I did not get any warnings or errors doing this.

Once the pages were complete it seems that all of the DataAssist forms were entered into the correct editable region that I selected on page one of the wizard. Perhaps there is an issue with the template you are using, I'm not sure though. If you can please post back with the template you are working with and the steps you are taking to produce the pages and get the bad results. I will use your info to try and reproduce the problem so it can be looked into further.
