Testing dreamweaver PayPal eCommerce Toolkit

Could someone please point me in the direction of articles which documents the process of testing the dreamweaver PayPal eCommerce Toolkit without the use of live credentials and transactions.

Thank you in anticipation for your help.

Hey Joseph,

In regards to testing PayPal without actually sending through real information, you will have to use PayPal Sandbox. It looks and acts just like the real PayPal, only it sets you up with false information so it can be used for testing.

The main documentation on Sandbox and how to go about using it can be found here:

Using the paypal Sandbox with the Webassist PayPal eCommerce Toolkit

I have checked the documentation for the sandbox, however there is no easy to read instructions on the changes which need to be made to the HTML code so that when simulating a paypal transaction through my website's paypal page, it performs as if I was transacting with the real paypal environment but instead interacts with the sandbox environment.

For example, the following code snippet shows the code which is automatically generated when the webassist button is paloce on the HTML page.

<input type="hidden" name="mrb" value="R-3WH47588B4505740X" />
<input type="hidden" name="pal" value="ANNSXSLJLYR2A" />

Is the above information different of the sandbox environment and if so what other components need to be changed so as to test within the sandbox.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I think the only thing you should update for this would be the action of the form the button is in. The action should be going to the sandbox instead using this value:

webscr

I got this from the PayPal Sandbox Users guide on page 34. Here is a link to the page that has the download for this documentation:

Just click on the Sandbox Users Guide link to download it.

Normally when testing with the Sandbox you are just adjusting the gateway or location that the information is being posted to.
