WA_eCart directory placement . . .

Admitting to my lack of knowledge is getting easier.
What is a "floater directory" (location & purpose)? I ran across the term in another post (4.1.6 breaks DW CS4). Not sure if the following question relates . . .
While using DW CS4 (still on eCart 4.1.5) I've noticed that a "new" WA_eCart directory has appeared in my site structure. Let's say that:
O:\website\html
contains my index.html plus ABC.php files & WA_eCart directory. The pages display & progress/link in DW, but do not "live" unless the WA_eCart directory is uploaded to:
o:\website level.
Of course, the unintentional comedy level was high as I deleted one directory only to find that either DW or "live" had become broken. Disappearing .GIF files (along with bindings) causing temporary panic, et cetera . . .
Thanks in advance . . .

Floaters is internal to DW and has nothing to do with your site.

DW "live" view uses the application server to render the page, so the files need to be uploaded.

WA_eCart directory position . . .

. . . yes, the problem described above somehow ocurred after files were uploaded to the server. There is a WA_eCart directory located at:
/mysite
and one located one directory down:
/mysite/html (where the .php & .html files reside)
While working on pages, then uploading said changes to the servers, the info from one was used to render the pages in Dreamweaver, the other rendered the "live" site on the internet. If one was deleted, it affected the page rendering either on the web or the image files (& bindings) were broken in DW CS4 . . .
Any ideas?
Thanks . . .
