A tiny wish list

A tiny wish list

I would like to have a small and basic info sheet on server behaviours (how to make use them) - and bindings, with a starter's 'how-to' about how to apply the bindings to yor web page. I see them in the panel but am unsure as to what they are and how to apply them.

It could be pretty generic, with a couple of step-by-step examples.

Thanks

Dreamweaver Simulations

Hey Neil,

Thanks for the suggestion. You might find some useful information in our Dreamweaver Simulations found here cs3_sims/. Chapter 20 demonstrates applying Bindings.

They are a bit outdated, but the procedures are mostly the same for CS3 or CS4.

Server behaviors vary product to product - Is there a product in particular that has Server Behaviors you don't know what to do with?

Oh wow - yes, - this looks like exactly what I'm after - incorporating and and modifying behaviors, and the dynamic data section and bindings. Simulations are especially useful to me - I seem to take so much more in when I can see what's happening. I get word blindness fairly quickly when reading, always have.

Thank you so much.

The behavior I was interested in was mentioned somewhere - but I lost the post - it was to do with adding a download file behaviour - but I'd better not get into that just yet, as I'm afraid I didn't use WebAssist software to organise the upload/download bit of the page I set up. I'll be getting DF Pro eventually, - and I may have a question or two and will come back to you then, if I may.

The sims you link to will be great for now.

Many thanks.

Edit: Oh - I see, 'server behaviors' are different from just 'behaviors'. Getting it - bit by bit. Baby steps.

Later that same evening - Exciting Update: I'm ecstatic. Chapter 20 has done more for me in 10 minutes than all of my inept fumblings have produced in weeks. I can visualise now - therefore I can do. Soo much appreciated.

Would also like to see a small pdf tutorial on session variables - how to create and implement with perhaps one example 'walk-through' scenario.

Thanks.

Neil Beadle might have something to add, as far as recent or planned documentation, but in the meantime, I found a thread that may help you a bit:
