Archive products?

Archive products?

Is there a way to archive products? I.e. take them off the web without deleting them. I have items in my store that expire -- we sell class packages, and once the date has passed, we need to take them off the web / out of shopping cart, but i still want to be able to pull up old orders. How/where does the eCart object check for active products? If it has a productID <> 0?

in your product catalog pages, you will need to modify the recordsets that display the available products to filter the extirpation date column being greater than or equal to today's date.

SELECT *
FROM Products
WHERE experationDate >= CURDATE()

Another possibility is to add an extra field to your products table called archived or something similar and filter your recordsets based on that value.

This is something I do as matter of course in all my ecommerce projects now.
