Aligning 3 div tags inline

Aligning 3 div tags inline

I have previously created and positioned divs "inline," beside one another (in Dreamweaver CS3). Suddenly, this past month, I find I am unable to create 3 divs side by side (the 2 outside divs smaller (200px@) and the center 300px SQ. I have not changed any settings that I am aware of. Still, I am completely unable to finish my home page to upload (after running checks). Can you please tell me the (Mac) settings I need to be aware of/and use to achieve this linear configuration? This problem exists within the container in a Dreamweaver document.

Thank you! James

There is a great tutorial on A List Apart for understanding how to create 3 column layouts:

Thanks, but didnt answer question

Hi Jason, Appreciate your response. However, the three div tags are not for three columns. The page is more complex than that. I have no fixed sidebar. One part is 5 columns, one part is two columns, one part is three columns, and two other sections are one column. I have three div tags in a row in the three column section, but this does not apply to the whole page. Thank you, James Richards
