iRite not showing CSS styles

hi

I am using some CSS styles with iRite.

I have correctly attached the css file, and the styles appear in the styles list, I can also apply these styles to text within iRite and it updates the record accordingly.

However, when I return to my Update Record page, iRite no longer shows the text with the applied styles.

Here's the link:

about_Results.php

You can see that for record 1 I've applied a style to all of the text, but when you click on Update you will see that the formatting has gone... even though they are still available in the styles list

This issue is the same on Mac and PC. I have linked the stylesheet to the Update page.

thanks

I think that I can see what you are talking about. When I view the content it looks the same as it does on the page, then when I edit it the styling seems to disappear. When I check on the source I notice something that seems incorrect. In the style that is applied to the text it looks like this:

<span class="&quot;greytext&quot;">

So it seems that some extra quotes are being added to the source that are preventing it from displaying correctly. To check what may be causing this take a look at the default value for your iRite editor. If there is any entity encoding it could be causing this to happen. Take a look there and see if you can adjust it to stop this from happening, if there is encoding going on you can test it by removing it then see what the result is when you use the iRite editor to update the text.

hi Eric

Yep you were right - I reset the default value to collect the recordset value and it works a treat now

Thanks for your help

Glad to hear it, in case you were wondering about how I figured it this way I made use of the FireBug addon for FireFox. This tool allows you to inspect a live web page while interacting with it. I find it to be one of the most valuable tools that I use for debugging purposes, especially css issues since you can make adjustments on the fly and see the result.

Another issue

hi Eric

Thanks for the debug info, I'll definitely bear that in mind.

I have another issue now related to the styles:

Use this test link:

about_Update.php?about_ID=2

If you select the heading text and try to change the style, it applies the new style as well as keeping the old one.... and this can be done a number of times. Thats why I've added a 'No Style' button to the iRite panel as you need to completely erase all styles before changing to a different one...

... but surely it should be able to just replace the old style with the new one?

Can you help again please, many thanks

hi

I think I get it - you have to just deselect the style in the list
