Turn off required field for menu item

I am trying to create a survey, and wanted the possible answers to be an option in a Menu. Is there any way to turn the required attribute off for the menu item

In the Edit Form Contents wizard, select the group that contains the select list and click the edit button.

In the next widow, select the label for the select list and uncheck the Required validation option.

Turn off Validation is not working

So I have a simple contact form and when I click the edit on a group and turn off validation, the validation * required is still on the form. How can I get rid of Validation?

do want to remove validation entirely?

If so, go to window -> Server Behaviors. Select the Server Validation server behavior and click the minus button to remove it.
