Issues with new Install

Hi - I was hoping to avoid posting here as I know Ray has been away, not sure if anyone else might be able to help?

I downloaded the most recent version of PowerCMS2 from webassist.com/PowerCMS2.zip
I installed that on my site. When I went to /install_cms/ it forwarded to admin_cms/index.php with the error "no such directory".

I then decided to manually add my database info in the Connections.php when I went back to install_cms/ it gave me a new error: There is a problem with your MySQL syntax (the database is empty). That database was mySQL 8, so I changed to MySQL5 but got the same message.

I then switched back to MySQL8, and imported a database from another client site that is using PowerCMS2...that worked to bring it up/login, but the manage users page comes up blank and I can't delete pages in PowerCMS to customize it to this new site.

Are there instructions anywhere for doing a fresh install on a new site? It has been awhile, but I thought it was just loading the files and going to the install_cms/ folder to start the wizard? Any help is appreciated!

Sorry for the long delay. I just took a look at your site and you probably downgraded since I can't reproduce issues. I may have bugs that need to be fixed in the source even. You are correct that you should just be able to go to the install folder and install. If you reply to this thread this morning with something I can look into I'll be here for the next few hours.

Hi Ray thx so much! I hope u r doing ok! I was able to finally get it going after copying all the files/database from a working PowerCMS2 site then just deleting the other sites info/history/etc from the database. I did have to look at my insert code from the other site too as the developer notes were missing the “echo” command.

I couldn’t get the installer to work correctly on its own, but luckily found a workaround using all the files/etc of an existing site.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like there are issues that I could fix, but I'll have to wait until someone else reproduces them.
