Trying to insert recotd

I am trying to insert record from a form like
<?php require_once('webassist/mysqli/rsobj.php'); ?>
<form id="form1" name="form1" method="post">
  <input name="username" type="text" id="username" ><p>

<input name="submit" type="submit" id="submit" formaction="insert.php" formmethod="POST" value="Submit">

the insert record code
<?php require_once('Connections/adultlch.php'); ?>
<?php require_once('webassist/mysqli/queryobj.php'); ?>
$InsertQuery = new WA_MySQLi_Query($adultlch);
$InsertQuery->Action = "insert";
$InsertQuery->Table = "tpat";
$InsertQuery->bindColumn("username", "s", "".((isset($_POST["username"]))?$_POST["username"]:"") ."", "WA_DEFAULT");
$InsertGoTo = "set_form.php";
if (function_exists("rel2abs")) $InsertGoTo = $InsertGoTo?rel2abs($InsertGoTo,dirname(__FILE__)):"";

but it doesn't work with There is an error in your SQL syntax.

Before the line:

add this:
$insertQuery->Debug = true;

That will give you a better error message.... most likely you have a field in your database that doesn't allow NULL and doesn't have a default value so it won't let you insert a record without specifying a value for that field. The error message should tell you what field that is after you add the debug line.
