After going to sitesettings under HTML EDITOR to grant access localhost will only display website code not page itself.problem fixed saw strange haccess file and deleted

That is probably because you didn't have the file upload folder set and it used the kcfinder folder as the upload folder. It automatically adds an .htaccess file to prevent php from displaying from the upload folder to prevent hackers from uploading and running malicious files.

If it happens again, that is the problem and check to make sure a good file upload folder is set.
