How to create dynamic meta tags

Hi Ray,

I would like to be able to create dynamic titles and descriptions.
I have created two fields metatitles and metadescriptions in the database table which can be completed after the product details field is completed by a client.

So <title> would equal to the field metatitle.

I used to use something like this but have lost track of the code.
----------
BTW in the Community forums if I carry out a search I can see only 5 results.
The link Show more results is not working for me.

Many thanks
John

I fixed the forum results... thank you for bringing it to my attention. You can place database content anywhere you want. Just create a recordset to get the data you need and add it to the page wherever you want to with the bindings panel. That includes the title tag or meta tags.

Hi Ray
That's very helpful.
I thought to place a Description field into a template which can then be modified later.

The result of this is
<meta name="description" content=" <?php echo($Rs->getColumnVal("metadescription")); ?>">

showed at the top of the page although it is placed in the <head> area.
I did not update the template to the pages, I opened F12 the template.
Also showed when using Live Code button

Many Thanks
John

You have descriptions written to the page outside of the head on both lines 7 and 8. That is probably what you are seeing on the top of the page.

I have used page database features forever and love them to death. All meta, page titles, page subtitles, content, header images etc. By using DataAssist back end admin set up, all I have to is assign a new page ID to a page and it flows in. I can't even imagine building a site any other way. Such a time saver and allows clients to make their own SEO adjustments. All thanks to DA features.
