New logins not working

New logins not working

I added some new members to my login database table but none of them are working.

I get "Invalid username or password" whenever I try to login with any of the new members.

Of course, it doesn't tell me which is the problem (username or password).

All of the existing logins work fine.

I have retyped the login info, copied and pasted it into the login page, to no avail.

What could be the problem?

I couldn't say. There must be something different about the new members you added. If you gave me FTP access and a url then I could debug and try to figure it out. Also include the username and password that isn't working and one that is for me to compare.

I need a confirmation code (texted to you) to get into the admin. The FTP doesn't seem to work for me either. I need one or the other to get in and see what is going on.

I was able to get in with the FTP information... I'll reply separately with my findings now.

It looks like the last group of passwords you entered were unencrypted, but the others are encrypted. That is why you can't log in with the new information.

Incidentally, neither of the logins you provided work for me, and I can see that neither password in the database is encrypted. (see private area for more details)

The private area should show when you are logged in and viewing the message on the site. You don't see it?

I am going to rebuild the login module from scratch.

Which of the encryption methods do you recommend (this is not a high-risk web site)?

If it isn't a high risk site, then no encryption is fine. It makes everything else a lot more simple.

I created a new set of login pages, etc. (with no encryption).

However, no matter what I enter in the password field, the warning comes up to Enter a Value (and therefore doesn't let me login).

See attached file.

Also, just out of curiosity, the <div> class for this page is WAATK, yet I can't find that class in any of the css files attached. Where is it hiding?
