Change Href conditionally

Change Href conditionally

In the following code, I want the href to change target depending on the value of another field.

<a href="PORC_Member_Round_1_Ballot.php?record_number=<?php echo ($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?>"><?php echo($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?></a>

In essence, I want it to go to “PORC_Member_Round_2_Ballot.php” if “sendto_second_round” is True. Otherwise go to “PORC_Member_Round_1_Ballot.php” if false

Something like this:

If getColumnVal("sendto_second_round") = True then
<a href="PORC_Member_Round_2_Ballot.php?record_number=<?php echo ($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?>"><?php echo($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?></a>

else
<a href="PORC_Member_Round_1_Ballot.php?record_number=<?php echo ($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?>"><?php echo($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?></a>

What is the correct code to do this?

php:
<a href="PORC_Member_Round_<?php echo($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("sendto_second_round")?"2":"1"); ?>_Ballot.php?record_number=<?php echo ($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?>"><?php echo($rsBatchRecords->getColumnVal("record_number")); ?></a>

Something is not right. When I put that code in, the list of records that that is tied to on the page comes up blank (not the page, just the records).

When I took the href code out, the list comes up fine. So it doesn't like something in that href code.

I had a typo... I didn't have the recordset name in front of the getColumnVal() reference... I've updated the code so it should be correct now.

Yes, that worked. Thanks.
