admin pages s l o w

Dear all,
I am having a lot of trouble updated products through the admin pages. I have shut off almost all operations running in the background. My internet is fine. It seems to be my local host. I am running wamp as my server. It has been fine up till now. Any thoughts? Here is my last error message:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in C:\wamp\www\handsomehounds\WA_ValidationToolkit\WAVT_ValidatedForm_PHP.php on line 4

Could it be my image size - I created with 200px by 200px and 400px by 400px

This could be related to your localhost server.

Have you tried this on a live server?

Also, having a lot of options added to your products could cause the pages to render slowly due to all the parsing.

slow admin pages

thanks for the reply. i have not tried this on my remote server yet, only locally. I do have a few options for all my products. is there a way to avoid having options for products - size, price, color etc?

I'm not sure there is a way to avoid having options, if you are planning to have options.

Options will only become an issue if you have more than 8 options per a product.

admin slow

Right now I am experimenting with moving all files to my desktop to see if that is causing my problems. My laptop has plenty of space, a decent processor and plenty of RAM. I will let you know if that was my problem.

Lisa

slow admin

well, looks like it was definitely my computer. I copied all files, set up my server onto my desktop and it works beautifully. My laptop has enough RAM (2gb), processor is AMD turion 64 x2 mobile technology TL-64, 2.20 ghz, 32 bit operating system, 23.2gb free on my c drive. Any thoughts on what to do to improve performance on my laptop? Could I have set up my testing server in such a way as to slow things down? My computer seems to run well - photoshop, fireworks, flash all run well. Internet is fine as well. I am defragging right now and will do a disc check too. If I take it to a computer person, what would you tell them?

Regards,

Lisa

The issue is not with your computer, it is more related to the testing server you are using and the size of the database which could get very big when using options.

The only thing that i could recommend is to try to work with products with fewer options when working on your laptop. And add more options when you work on your Desktop.
