Download Only Causing Shipping Issue

Hello,

I'm stuck on something here. I have a condition Number of items with isapackage of 1 > 0 AND UPS shipping quote !=0

I'm getting a shipping failure page that says No Packages to Ship

I obviously need the shipping quote skipped for purchases that are only downloads. (I have mixed products). I looked through the forums. I am probably missing something easy here.

Thanks for the help.

Are you getting the error when you only have downloads items in your cart?

I'm not sure how you are covering the case where you have a download item and an item that requires shipping.

Well before I put the "based on itemisapackage" on it worked fine with 1 item in as a package and one not being a package. The weight is just set to zero. I haven't tried to purchase both with the new rule on. Im hoping Im just missing something. And yes this problem is when I have download only items in the cart.

Hello?

Any thoughts on this. I am suppose to have this thing up and running by now. Thanks.

I think you could accomplish this with out having the itemisapackage column in your cart. As long as you have a weight that is set to 0 for downloads and set to something else > 0 for shipping items, you could add a rule to the shipping where it only does shipping when it needs to.

If you open your eCart object, and go to the shipping tab, and click the add button (or you might want just to edit an existing one). Add a trigger and for the condition select "Subtotal for any column", and make sure to set it to ">" than 0.

This way the shipping is only going to be applied if your total weight is greater than 0.

let me know if you are still having issues after making these changes.

Nope.

Still having a problem. Still goes to the NO PACKAGES TO SHIP page.

I will include the ecart1_php.php page so you can see the code.

Does having it a decimal cause any problem? I wouldn't imagine it would.

Yes.
Make sure that when you enter the weight, you enter it in the form: 0.01 and not .01. And if you still getting the error, try not including weight that is less than on pound. UPS might have a 1 pound weight limit.

What you just said doesn't make sense. I have plenty of products in there that are decimal weight under a pound and they work fine. I'm trying to get it to avoid calculating shipping if there's nothing to ship, if the cart only has downloadable material in it.

Let's try again.

Ok Let's try this again as I'm getting pretty frustrated, especially with how long it is taking to get a reply and get this fixed.

The extension states that this works with packages and digital products. This shouldn't be such a problem. I am going to include a zip file with the ecart1_php.php file.
I changed the totalweight column to be larger then 0

I have tried so many different combos. But it still goes to the shipping failure page. I believe that if there is NO weight and I setup the rule to check for weight first, that it should by pass the request from ups.

Anymore thoughts? I am way behind on this project and this cart is the hold up. Thanks for your help.
