MySQLi extension update Failed. DreamWeaver not working.

After Updating the MySQLi extension. Dreamweaver now freezes on open. I get the an error message (picture attached) stating "Could not connect to WebAssist server,... make sure you are connected to the internet and try again", even though my computer is connected to the internet. If I click ok to close the error window there is no progress. The 'Step 1: Downloading files' dialog window just remains there and nothing happens. I uninstalled the extension to try and install again but after reinstallation the same error occurred.

Mac OS 10.11.6 - Dreamweaver CS5

Updating MySQLi v1.0.0 to MySQLi Server Behaviors v1.0.8

(The reason I updated was because I was getting the error "colname is an invalid variable name; it does not appear in the SQL" when trying to create a variable within the MySQLi query dialog window)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MySQLi extension update Failed. DreamWeaver not working.

Hi Ray. Thanks for getting back to me. The update finally worked after a few attempts but the the problem "colname is an invalid variable name; it does not appear in the SQL" persisted. So I manually created the variable to solve the problem. All sorted.
