That error implies you are using a MySQL connection and not MySQLi, or your connection scripts aren't up to date. Are you sure you are testing the correct type of connection? I'd need more information to fully debug this. If you give me FTP access then I can try to reproduce it and see what is causing the issue. You might try Site->Advanced->Remove Connection scripts to reset your connection scripts, or try reinstalling MySQLi server behaviors in case they were overwritten in your Dreamweaver somehow.
