A connection to 2 databases

Hi Ray

I'm wanting to spread content across two or more database, as I anticipate the data will exceed the 1Gb database limit imposed by the provider - but I can have unlimited database.

I've noted that to do an inner join, you do database1.tablename.fieldname, database2.tablename.fieldname etc - but the MySQL_i connection referenced is to one database. How can I do the connection so it covers two database?

e.g.
<?php
# FileName="WADYN_MYSQLI_CONN.htm"
# Type="MYSQL"
# HTTP="true"
$hostname_connEGM_i = "localhost";
$database_connEGM_i = "egmtest";
$username_connEGM_i = "";
$password_connEGM_i = "";
@session_start();

$connEGM_i = new mysqli($hostname_connEGM_i, $username_connEGM_i, $password_connEGM_i, $database_connEGM_i);
$connEGM_i->set_charset('utf8');
?>

Many thanks

Chris

I don't think you can. You can't do joins on tables from different databases. You may be able to design your page to use separate recordsets that use different databases, but not in the same query.
