DataAssist Update Page will not allow Email to be sent when Update Button Pressed

I added pages using DataAssist to a mySQLi table. I want to fire off an email notification when a record has been updated. I added the send mail server behavior and set it up to trigger the email when Update Button Pressed. For some reason, the email will not trigger.

I started over and created the pages again. Same results. I made sure the Form Action is blank. I then set up a simple form with no other action on it to see if there is a problem with my web server. I can get the form to send the email but not when Update Record server behavior is also present.

Is there a workaround to this?

You have to remove the redirect in the update server behavior to give the email a chance to send. If you just move the redirect to the email server behavior instead it should solve your problem.
