Recordset error: "your php server doesn't have the mysql module loaded or you can't use the mysql_(p)connect functions dreamweaver"

After I create a recordset, using the MySQLi Web Assist tool, when I "test" on localhost I get the error: "your php server doesn't have the mysql module loaded or you can't use the mysql_(p)connect functions dreamweaver"
I am using Windows 10 machine, PHP version 7.2.9
The recordsets work perfectly on my remote server, just not on localhost

It looks like you have added an old style recordset instead of a mySQLi recordset. Make sure you are using a mySQLi Connection and recordset and you shouldn't have this issue. Old style Recordsets don't work on php7 or later, that is probably why it works in one location and not the other.

Recordset error: "your php server doesn't have the mysql module loaded or you can't use the mysql_(p)connect functions"

Hello Ray,

I checked for that as well.

I created the Recordset using the WebAssist MySQLi Server Behaviors tool, and am using Dreamweaver version 20.1, on a Windows 10 machine, using PHP 7.2.9

I have attached a screenshot for clarity.

This is a sample recordset (does not show test results for any of my recordsets on any localhost page):
<?php
$Recordset1 = new WA_MySQLi_RS("Recordset1",$entrepreneur_interview_project,1);
$Recordset1->setQuery("SELECT Count(results.ID) AS CountID FROM results WHERE results.`Status` = 'Approved' ");
$Recordset1->execute();?>

Works fine on the remote server, but when I "test" on localhost I get the error instead of a preview of results.

Thinking back I noticed that this started happening after I updated my PHP version from 5.x to 7.x
Doing a web search I found this page:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/dreamweaver/your-php-server-doesn-t-have-the-mysql-module-loaded/m-p/10451365

They say that DW server behaviors are no longer compatible with PHP 7+

I can test it using my localhost PHPMyAdmin, and on my remote server (after FTP) just fine, but I wanted to bring this to your attention. Maybe there is a Dreamweaver configuration or PHP.ini tweak that might solve this?

I just wanted to bring this to your attention.

I hope this helps,

Ralph

Maybe you have an older version of the Deprecated Server Behaviors extension installed? Try reinstalling DataBridge. The dreamweaver version won't work on php7, but ours should.

Hi Ray,

Not sure how that happened, but you are right, I think the extension got corrupted somehow... After I reinstalled my extensions, the "test" now works as it should.

Thank you for your help.

Take care and stay safe.
