bulk uploads of products, users?

I know when I create an interface for adding products in a store I can add them one at a time or modify them, but as I am moving 3k products from an Adobe BC site, what is the best way to do uploads of products, pictures and users with passwords for secure areas? I can do things manually with Navicat but I don't want to screw up the WA created databases.

I'd do an import with navicat or phpMyAdmin.

Is there a way to build a bulk uploader? The client with 3000 items has been using a bulk upload/change with Adobe Business Catalyst. I can do that for them as needed, but I they don't have the tech skills to use phpMyAdmin or navicat.

I'm sure it could be built. But the specifics depends on the structure of the database and the data structure that needs to be imported. Lots of times people use an excel .csv file that gets uploaded and parsed to do a data sync or update.

Yes that can be built, but it would take some hand coding. We have extensions to allow you to upload a csv, but you would have to hand code parsing and looping through the rows. Then you could use our extensions for the insert or update.

To export a csv you can use a webassist recordset, but you would have to hand code the headers and csv creation. This is something I could help with in a premier support session.
