[DEBUG MODE] Fixing problems changing servers

[DEBUG MODE] Fixing problems changing servers

Hello,

Had hoped to signal New Year by just sending appreciation. But OS on a server was getting oudated, & needed to update. But after having migrated all files, neither eCart nor Power Messenger are sending emails.

How can I switch on debug mode in PowerMessenger, as you one dio, so I can track down the problem?

(Since it's only happening because of new server, do not believe it's your software)

Thanks

As I was posting this, your server hung for a minute or so, and then posted a 500 error. But I came & saw the question had posted OK
Thank you,

If you send me FTP information and a url to your site then I'll debug it. Most likely it is a blocked port on the new server preventing the communication.

Hello,

I agree with your analysis. I just want to be completely certain, however, that it is them and not you; although I have already indicated this.

It looks like it is giving an authentication error. Like your email username or password have changed, or maybe there is an IP restriction for sending emails that you have to update on your email smtp server to allow the new IP address to send emails.

I've updated your mailer page to include debug information when you send a test message from your email body design.

I must be making an error somehow? I tried a test send & did not get debug info? I tried creating a new test message to myself & did not get any, & then tried a ºPrevrew” using the one you created/copied of one I had earlier maoe, & that also did not (used Preview because I wanted to keep yoprs intact to reuse if necessary). Thank you, KB.

Click on "Design" for any mailing and then click on "Send Preview". That is where I added the debug info.

I am very sorry, but that is what I did before contacting you ... and it is what I just tried again. What you said should happen is not happening when I try it.

I open up the mailing called Test ..... copy in the Mailings listing. Since it has yet to be sent it is on the 4th page of listings. .When open I click on the pencil and notepad icon to open it. When open, I clidk on the middle option (between Get Spam Report and Save). This then brings up an ancillary window in which I can enter an email address. I do that, and then hit "Send Preview". I then hit close. But I do not receive an email.

Thank you, I am probably misperforming somewhere, but not sure where or how.

It occurs to me that we might be in different directories.

The one I am using is:
https://www.k...b.....com/sisya/admin_pm/

i.e. in a subdirectory named 'sisya'

Thank you.

Yes... we were using different directories.

I've added the debug code to the directory you are testing with.
