eCart donation (Add-To-Cart ) button leading to "Cart empty" error

Hello,

I have a "Donations" page on which I press the "Add-To-Cart" button.
All I ever get is a "The cart is empty" error.

I do not load the "View Cart" page with Checkout button I have created.

What ridiculous error might I be making?

Thank you,

If you are doing dontations, then I'd just use the donate button from our Free Tools extension. You are over complicating it by using add to cart and setting up a checkout for a simple donation.

In terms of why the donation button doesn't add to the cart, I'd have to see the php page. If you attach it I might be able to spot the problem, but I'd probably skip the shopping cart entirely for a donation.

Hello,

I am happy to believe I am approaching this the wrong way. I followed the tutorial you have over here:

http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Donations-with-eCart

Your own Donate button seems to do the job I also want to do. When people click it, they get an option to either pay with an ordinary credit card, or else to pay by PayPal.

As against that, the Free Tools that I found do not help me.
Firstly, the Donate button in those Tools does not give people the option of paying with ordinary credit cards. And secondly, the PayPal Business account I have allows people to remain on my site to pay me rather than leaving to go to over to PayPal.

Have I downloaded and installed the wrong tools? I found freebies for Skype, for Google, and for PayPal.

I attach the two files I have created, using the above Webassist tutorial I found earlier.

Thank you,

Free tools (paypal donate button) is what I added to the site, and it does allow you to pay with a credit card. However you do have to go to the paypal site and can't pay directly on your site.

The issue with your pages is that you are adding to the "gifts" cart on the first page, but displaying the "staticCart" contents on your cart page.
