separate from addresses with third party mail service

separate from addresses with third party mail service

Hello,

I got the same impression as you about the mailing service from the previous thread.

I have sent them messages saying that I have deleted all app passwords, and regenerated.

I have then used the Preview function in each of the three PowerMessenger installations to send separate messages, each with its request for a distinct From field, that I have clearly named per each domain.

Thus although the actual sign in name to the service remains the same, with three separate appwords (which was in any case happening) and three separate mailings arriving at them witnin a minute or so of each other from the three separate domains, hopefully they will either figure out for us what the problem is, or else amend things their end to make this possible.

I will let you know in due course what they say.

Thank you,
KB

Have you tried using the from email address and names they suggest and sending an email using the mailer? You wouldn't be able to use the test email button for that since it won't let you set the name.

Hello,

Just so we are on the same page …

I went in iy...international..org.

On the email settings page, the SMTP username cannot be changed, or it won't log in at all.

In the "From" field of that same settings page, I switched from "iy...international.org", which was the name when I sent them the tests, to the one they suggested, which is "support@iy....international.org".

I then created a mailing and sent myself a preview.

It came to me with the usual default from name and address of K.... B...., onlineclasses@k.b.com"

In other words, it failed to properly recognize the From Name as per usual.

Did I miss something I should have done? Is that what you implied?

Please advise if I have made an error.

Thany you,

I'm booked today, but let's set up a call for Monday to do screen sharing and try it together to make sure you are doing everything right and I can write the debug code to the page so we have something to send to your email provider if it still doesn't work.

Good luck with the sample file I helped create. Hopefully they will be able to come up with a working solution based on that.

Hi

No news from service yet. Sorry

Woke up and realized my level of trust in the email service was very low on the points at issue.

I did not want them coming back and saying that it would have worked if emails had originated from some other domain, and so I copied your test environment to the other two domain; ensured permissions were OK; and tested satisfactorily.

Makes me feel better to inform them that they can now use any of the three domains to send to any FROM address for 9 variants. All provide same default address, as they can observe for themselves.

Will be in touch when they respond.

Thank you,
