dynamic discount code for date(s)

I am asking about dynamic discount, like to have separate product once added to cart will be discounted based on start & end date depending on database entry for customers.

I tried using coupon code but not working like I need after changing coding still not working.

It should be possible to do. If you need help you can schedule a premier support ticket and we can work on it together. There isn't enough information in your post to diagnose what might be going wrong.

I created a database called DISCOUNT based on product. I can enter data that corresponds to date (start/end) once customer adds product to cart this should:

Database Driven Discounts

1. See dates to add discount only to that product
2. If no date discount will still work until I disable or delete table.

You should be able to add to cart page and look up the associated discount for that item and filter to make sure it is in the date range.

Then you could add a column to your cart for itemDiscount and insert the value from the recordset.

After that, create a discount rule to the cart equal to the total of the itemDiscount amounts.

I don't know of a specific tutorial for this exact scenario, but you can look at any of the tutorials on eCart discounts to see the concepts involved.

Here is what I have so far, like to have "discountTotal" subtracted per product price

example:

qty discount price total

1 $5 $45 $40

I'm going to need a detailed description of where you are getting stuck in order to give advice.

If you are just trying to get the discount total subtracted from the total, then there are a couple of ways to do that. You can do it by updating your cart object calculations or by adding a discount rule. It depends on where you want it listed on your view cart page.
