I want to insert data to a column based on url so that one insert page can enter dataspecified in url

Users are creating various posts and I want to insert the post_type by including the various post_types in the url.
Example: Golf. Bowling, Swimming

This is on a mySQLi page

Use the post type from the url to populate a hidden form element and then use the hidden form element to insert it into the database.

Thank you,

Would the url look like this mysite.com/add-record.php?post_type=Golf Event ?

Is the hidden field
<?php echo($WADAbettybracer->getColumnVal("post_type")); ?>

That is a reference to a recordset column. To populate a hidden field you would use:

<input type="hidden" name="post_type" value="<?php echo($_GET["post_type"); ?>">

Thank you! That worked great and you can insert into multiple columns. Just make sure you have corresponding inserts at the top of the page, then the hidden get elements. The url is something like: mysite.com/addrecord.php?post_type=my Special Post&col2=col2data&col3=col3data

There is an ending bracket missing in the above get, it should be:
<input type="hidden" name="post_type" value="<?php echo($_GET["post_type"]); ?>">
