encryption

Hi Ray

I have been using crypt encryption on most sites, but notice it is no longer available (ssee screenshot).

Which form of encryption is the most secure - I'm using php 7.4

Many thanks

Chris

It really depends on what you are encrypting and if you need to decrypt or search the field you are encrypting.

Thanks Ray

It's only for the password field.

Is one of the options compatible with crypt, so existing users don't need to change passwords (though that isn't a major problem).

Crypt actually should still be available. It is still supported in php7. I'll look into why it isn't showing in the bindings. You could just add the include file and reference the crypt function manually for now.

Thanks - I'd wondered if I could do that.

Here is a new formats.xml file that will add that option back. Just replace your version in your user's configuration folder: Configuration/ServerFormats/PHP_MySQL/Formats.xml

Formats.xml

Unfortunately, that hasn't made a difference; I have rebooted the computer, just in case, but no change. Looking at the old Formats.xml page, there were no encryption lines

This should be in your USERS configuration... not the program files directory.
