Nathon Jones Web Design

Validation is defaulting a datepicker field to 1970-01-01

I've raised this issue in the following forum post:
http://www.webassist.com/forums/posts.php?pid=225745

...but thought that it would be useful to mention it here.

WA Server Validation is defaulting the value in a datepicker field to 01-01-1970 when validation fails on any field.

This is the datepicker field...

<input type="text" class="form-control" name="DOB" id="DOB" placeholder="Date of Birth" maxlength="10" value="<?php echo(isset($_GET['v1'])?ValidatedField("healthscreeningform_984","DOB"):$rsEDITFORM->getColumnVal("SMCformDOB")?date("d-m-Y",strtotime($rsEDITFORM->getColumnVal("SMCformDOB"))):"") ?>" required>

This is the datepicker JS...

<script>
$(function () {
$("#datepicker").datepicker({
dateFormat : 'dd-mm-yy',
changeMonth : true,
changeYear : true,
yearRange: '-100y:c+nn',
maxDate: '-1d'
});
});
</script>

Would appreciate help with this as customers aren't noticing it and, therefore, everyone is submitting the same date of birth! :S
Thank you.

Please attach the page you are working on so I can take a look. The issue has to be in the value you have set for the input field:

php:
<?php echo(isset($_GET['v1'])?ValidatedField("healthscreeningform_984","DOB"):$rsEDITFORM->getColumnVal("SMCformDOB")?date("d-m-Y",strtotime($rsEDITFORM->getColumnVal("SMCformDOB"))):""?>

this code looks like it is set to use the server validation value when $_GET['v1'] is set. So the issue may be that the server validation doesn't set that get variable. Another possibility is that the validated field reference is wrong.

I'll go to the other post to take a look. In the future please don't post the same issue multiple times. It is too confusing to keep track of if and when I've answered it and what information I do or don't have.

I'll need FTP access and a URL to reproduce the issue in order to debug it. The code looks right to me. If I had FTP access then I'd try writing the value to the page to see if it looked right and then maybe play with the datepicker settings if it did or look into what might be wrong with the value code if it didn't.
