Line break, even though no line break in code

I have two pages, the main and the shop page. On the search page of the main page is an unwanted line break before and after the link. Both pages are fed from the same database, so that can't be the problem. Any idea what is going on?

I added "xxx" to the search pages just to see whether it would be shown in a new line.

If you give me a url where I can see the problem, then I could tell you where the line break comes from.

On https://www.segufix.com/CSSSculptor/2ColumnFixedLeftSidebarHeaderandFooter_SEGUFIX2012_css/screen.css line 590 you have:

.searchText a:link {
display: block;
text-decoration: none;
border-style: none;
}

Block level elements automatically show on their own line. So the <a> tag above it is what is showing on its own line. Change it to inline-block and that will probably do the trick.

Thanks, Ray. That worked. There was another problem, so I put the entire line into the a tags.
