Inconsistant Validation

I have something strange going on here with my form created in CSS Form Builder.
At first I was convinced I had done something wrong, and maybe it's still the case. But I created a clean generic form using only the presets in FB and then uploaded all folders and files.
What's happening is the invalid message appear at the start, for my textarea field. What I want is for it to act just like the name and email text field. Where there is no message, but if you click into the field, then click out of the field the message pops up. What am I missing and how do I hide the text area message until it's been validated on blur.

And what makes this even more strange is that I created and uploaded the exact same preset on a different domain and it works properly. I immediately assumed I had a corrupt file so I let WA create new ones. That didn't do it.

Lastly, how come there are two validations for each field? Just curious. There is the "Show if" WA validation and then there is the Spry validation. Do we need both? Why does FB automatically create so many validations?

I think I found one of the issues. Well, there are two actually but one would be directly linked to my textarea validation issue. The file needed was in my SpryAssets folder and when I look at the modified date of the folder it's over a week old. But when opening the folder I see that a new file was generated and I failed to upload that. My bad.

But then I looked into my WA_ValidationToolkit it had not generated either of the scripts or validatedform files. Only the Captcha file. I had just deleted this entire folder and then reopened FB to recreate all the files. Upon opening it a second time, it completed the missing files. So I am not sure if this has any connection to the inconsistencies of some of the validation. Obviously the missing files above cause the page to not open so there for, no validation at all. But it's kind of weird that FB created the folder an only one file on my third attempt. Did I do something to interrupt the extension? I don't know.

It's working now but I would still like to know if two validations are needed for each field.

There are client side validations and server side validations. The Spry validations are the client side validations and the WA_Validation show if is for the server side validations. You can decide whether you want them both or not based on what you want for your site. You can turn off one or both by going to the Edit Design interface and choosing validations from the drop down menu. There will be a section labeled Type and you can select which ones you want applied.

OH, I can't believe I missed that. I didn't think to look under design for validations. Thanks for the reply that makes it easier now.
