Setting dynamic links to a speciffic colour

Hi,

I wonder if any one can help me? I use dataAssist and its a great extension to dreamweaver. Most of my pages are generated with some form of dataAssist code embed in it.

I have a php/mysql page that displays a list of house numbers, for example 1 to 10 that require work completing;

There is a case where some of these house numbers have already had the work completed, but will require inspection of the completed work.

Its been suggested to me that I should set the house numbers (font colour) to red or purple if they require inspection. This simple effect will visually inform the workers that they dont need to look at that record because the work has been completed. But, will inform the inspectors to look at the record and fill in the relevant details.

I am able to perform the search for property numbers, but depending on the sql code (inspect_property=1) set the property number to the correct colour otherwise leave it at the default colour.

here is the code
______________________________________________________________________

<?php echo $row_Recordsetdisplayproperties['cust_houseno']; ?></a>
<?php } while ($row_Recordsetdisplayproperties = mysql_fetch_assoc($Recordsetdisplayproperties)); ?>
______________________________________________________________________

Hope that helps, but if you need more information I am happy to oblige

thanks

John

Would it be easier to have 3 different searches set up? One that searches for all the properties that still need something done with them, one that searches for the properties that need work done and one that searches for the properties that need to be inspected? This way the workers and inspectors can just search for the ones that are relevant to their line of work instead of scanning through to find the ones they may not necessarily need to look at?

Thanks for your response Jimmy,

Yes I agree, thing is this thing runs on mobile PDA's and the like. The guys would have to keep running searches to find the different items. Here is a link to an image of the page so you can see what I mean.

Its really a data collection system for mobile operatives, I gave the previous example just to be simplistic and get the message across.

If the property numbers could be coloured it would then provide a visual guide to what is going on.

Hope that helps

cheers

Setting dynamic links to a speciffic colour

Just to add a little more detail,

you can see from the image that it shows the property number, the address and underneath that it says 'No Clean'. It is these property numbers that need to be colour coded. It will then save the guys clicking on each property to see what need doing. Some of these streets can have upto 30 properties on them, so colour coding seems to be the best way to go about things.

sorry to ramble on, hopefully you can see where I am coming from.

cheers again

Just a thought

Would it be any easier to change the background color of the house number cell?

Yes office172461 that could work too,

Not sure how I would go about it though, would you happen to have any code examples that may help.

thanks for your response
