Cannot view connection file on File Zilla

Hi Ray
I now have the FileZilla ftp working OK.

On the remote server I tried to view/edit the connection file and others.
I then receive an error message in File Zilla.
Status: Disconnected from server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...

This seems to work for me. Maybe you have something wrong with your Dreamweaver ftp information? I'll need more details on how to reproduce the issue you want me to help you with.

Thanks Ray,
I just tried to upload the connection file from my local server to the remote server but get the same error message as previously.

I have not uploaded the site with Dreamweaver but with File Zilla

I cannot think what else to try.

This is an FTP issue. Have you tried contacting your hosting provider? This isn't an issue with your connection file itself.

I'm able to connect with regular FTP over port 21. It looks like your server may not support SFTP connections over port 22.

I'm able to connect and upload files using standard FTP.

Thanks Ray
I tried port 21 in File Zilla but it failed.
When you say connect with regular FTP
is this setting the Dreamweaver Basic tab in Manage Sites to the Web Url ?

I normally set this to local host or is regular FTP different?

Thanks again
John

I'd try contacting your hosting provider. FTP configuration isn't my specialty. I really don't know why you can't connect with FTP. It seems to work for me.

Hi Ray
I thought I would let you know that I have now managed to sort out the problem with FileZilla.

I deleted all files in the site and deleted that site, I then recreated a new site and uploaded the files and it worked so alls well now!

Thanks for all your help.
Regards
John
