iRite not working in IE8

hi there

Using iRite in IE8 - when selecting some text and clicking on the link button, I then paste in my link and click ok, then I get the following error:

Script error
Line 128
Char 2
Error Object doesn't support this property or method
Code 0
URL fckdialog.html

This page works fine in IE7

There is a known compatibility problem with the link dialog in the FCKEditr version in iRtie and IE 8, we will be fixing this in an upcoming update to iRite.

In t he mean time, you cqan manually upgrade the version of the FCKEditopr that is used Here is some info on how to do that:

Before updating, I would strongly recommend backing up the WA_iRite folder. Also note that we have not tested iRite with any newer version of the FCKEditor, so we will not be able to support it.
In the WA_iRite folder, there is a folder called "editor", replace this with the "editor" folder in the FCKEditor package download.

Any other files that are at the root of the WA_iRite folder that do not begin with WA should be replaced with the new ones from the FCKEditor download. It is important to make sure you do not replace files that begin with WA.

Keep in mind, that if you update the FCKEditor, you may cause other problems. Also, if you add the functionality for Image Upload, you will need to redo the steps for enabling it.

iRite for ASP

I am also having the same issue with iRite. I hope that the update to iRite which has the latest version of FCKeditor will still support ASP as promised when new ASP extensions were stopped.

Yes, there will be an update to iRite v1 to include the latest FCK editor coming out soon. I ma not sure on the exact date however.
