Disappearing Act

I just upgraded to the CSS Sculptor 3. Although I like the new features, I am a little disappointed that you have not "fixed" the one area in which after a few "clicking on the apply" button, the preview does NOT show up anymore, and although the tabs are still working, there is nothing to modify, and everything disappears.. What is the fix for this? In the past I have cancelled the sculptor and restarted it, and fortunately the last thing I was working on is there.. But, after configuring things just the way I want, it's a scary proposition to have to cancel and hope that the last css sculptor page I was working on is there.. Not good workflow. Is there a workaround?

Awaiting your response.

And restarting it does not bring up the last sculptor page...

GRRRRRRRR! Restarting the sculptor does NOT bring up the last page worked on, if you cancel out because of my post above.

It's not a memory issue, the only thing I have open is Dreamweaver CS4 and Outlook.

Glenn,

Is "preview", perhaps, disabled on your Dreamweaver? I have had no problems with the preview so far.

To check, (keep in mind, I am on Mac so I am not sure how different this will be on Windows), you need to to go to EDIT > WebAssist Preferences... then in the dialogue box, click the preview and in there is a check box that when checked will disable the preview.

Best regards,

Brian

Hiya Brian,

Well, I want the preview enabled, so I can see the changes as I make changes in the options from the tabs. I suppose I can disable the preview in the web assist preferences, but that's not really fixing the problem, rather just hiding it. However, to answer your question, it is not disabled at the current time.

Thanks for the response,

Glenn

So after applying to the preview engine a few times the preview stops working?

Does the wizard freeze up or are you still able to complete the wizard?

The wizard DOES NOT freeze up, however the preview engine stops working. The tabs still work, but with the preview also the choices under each tab are gone.

I can cancel the sculptor, but don't believe I can "finish it.," and I don't know if I can save it as a preset (probably not because my choices have disappeared).

I tried editing and applying to the preview in the browser, but I wasn't able to reproduce this effect. What operating system are you running and do you have any other extensions installed that may cause a conflict?

Does this occur both when you are using the Customize CSS and the Manage Colors interface?

Hi Jimmy,

Only on the Customize CSS does not happen when I use the manage color interface - I have site assist professional 1.07 (which is rarely used), and CSS Menu Writer 1.03, and the Palette Picker as well.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

thanks,

Glenn

Do you have any security software or virus scan that may cause conflicts with the preview engine? If you do, could you disable these and try the extension again?
