Configure form persistence

I was looking for information on how to build persistence in a field.
I found this but it does not explain how to do it
Is there a tutorial?

Many thanks
John

Just apply the Persistent Form Server Behavior on the action page of the form, and then the form values from that form will be available in the bindings to use on any page after.

Delete the line that refers to:
mailformatting_php.php

That is not used in the latest version and is leftover from the old email code.

It looks like there were two recordsets on the page with the same name, so the update to MySQLi left some old code behind. Just delete lines 38-43 and you should be ok. You can also delete lines 3-32 since those aren't being used anymore either.
