API connector piece, I need to connect to old tech SOAP API not the new REST/json. Do yo have a plugin solution for connecting to API's?

API question - I need to connect to both SOAP API's and the new REST/json format. Does WA have a datasource connection plugin solution for connecting to API datasources?

DMX has a REST API but not SOAP here - https://www dmxzone com/go/33294/app-connect-api-data-source

Does WebAssist have an equivalent API connection solution that will connect to both the old SOAP technology and the new REST API's?

What I am looking to do is connect to an API data source - format either SOAP or REST.... and use it as if it were a database connection in building my page.... I would like to see it appear as if it were a mySQL data source but API instead.

If not then when will you ... this is very important.

Thanks

We don't have an extension for this. It isn't a common request (you are the first person to ask for it). We could help you build a working site in a premier support ticket, but a full Dreamweaver integration is not expected.

Thanks - Keep this in mind please.

Interesting because there are so many ways to connect to data out there, Google, AWS, Salesforce, UPS, USPS, FEDEX and so many more I just can not imagine that people would not want to build custom data-driven applications off all of the free data sources out there.

I found this https://zappysys.com/blog/category/api-integration/ but it will only help me get the data into SQL I then could use your tools to build the pages I want to build.

It would be great to have the ability to connect to API data, directly as a data source and eliminate the need to have to get that data into SQL first.

We usually have specific server behaviors to work with specific APIs instead of one general one. We have Google Maps, Google Custom Search, UPS, USPS, FEDEX, and others. We just don't have a generic solution. Which API are you connecting to?
