Checkout Problem

I have my Paypal Payments Pro set up and my credentials setup in the WA_Globals file. I am in sandbox mode and have setup my sandbox on the paypal site. When I go to check out I get the message (We're sorry
Your PayPal transaction could not be completed. Please return to checkout and try again.)

Please help I need to get this working today.

thank you,

Bruce

To trouble shoot the problem, Add the following to the pp_checkout_failure.php page:

php:
<?php

if(!isset(session_id)) session_start();
echo(
"Auth Request : <code>".$_SESSION["ECO_Auth_Request"]."</code>|<br /><br />");
echo(
"Auth Result : <code>".$_SESSION["ECO_Auth_Result"]."</code>|<br /><br />");
echo(
"Get Request : <code>".$_SESSION["ECO_Get_Request"]."</code>|<br /><br />");
echo(
"Get Result : <code>".$_SESSION["ECO_Get_Result"]."</code>|<br /><br />");
echo(
"Process : <code>".$_SESSION["ECO_Process_Request"]."</code>|<br /><br />");
echo(
"Process Result : <code>".$_SESSION["ECO_Process_Result"]."</code>|<br /><br />");
?>

This will write the full request being sent to pay pals, and the response they are giving to help us see what is wrong.

NOTE, The request and response will contain some sensitive information, this should be removed when posting back.

What is the error?

It is impossible to tell anything without knowing the error.

It would also be helpful to have a copy of the file. Compress it into a zip archive and attach the zip file to your reply with the error text.

This is a generaic error message.

Are you testing with IE? In IE there is a setting to show fridly HTTP error messages. In the Internet option on the Advanced tab, you should turn this off so we can see the real error.

Also, Are you testing locally? if you testing locally in iis 7, you may need to make further changes to have the server display the real error:
1) Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools
2) Open the IIS control panel and open the ASP option
3) At the top of the ASP control area select Display: Friendly Names
4) Now go down to the Compilation area and expand Debugging Properties
5) In debugging properties make sure to set Enable Client -side Debugging, Enable Server -side debugging, and Send Errors to Browser to TRUE. Make sure to click the Apply on the right side of the page.
6) After setting the debugging you must go back to the IIS control panel and using the controls on the right side restart the server.

This will enable debugging info to display when an error occurs. This should be turned on while testing and should not be left enabled for a live server.

I figured it out

I found the answer in an older post. I did not realize that the Paypal sandbox and the functional Paypal Pro API's were different. Once I took the store live all seens to be working properly. I just need to secure the checkout process and we will be in business.

Thanks for your help
