HTML Editor freaking out

HTML Editor freaking out

After years of working well the HTML editor is not acting odd.

It's inserting the following when viewed as source:

0
<title>Rich Text Editor, editorField</title>
<link href="https://retailertoolkit.com/webassist/ckeditor/contents.css?t=I3I8" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="https://retailertoolkit.com/webassist/ckeditor/plugins/copyformatting/styles/copyformatting.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="https://retailertoolkit.com/webassist/ckeditor/plugins/tableselection/styles/tableselection.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

The only thing that should have been present was the zero and even that is translated from MySQL as a NULL so not sure that should happen either.

Deleted the "webassist/ckeditor" folder and recreated the Editor then uploaded all the new files... Same problem if not actually worse as I believe the prior unwanted text was less initially.

Any ideas why?

Maybe the "false" attribute in the initial line?

<?php
// The initial value to be displayed in the editor.
$CKEditor_initialValue = "".($Types->getColumnVal("typeDesc",false)) ."";
$CKEditor = new CKEditor();
$CKEditor->basePath = "../webassist/ckeditor/";
$CKEditor_config = array();
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_name"] = "SGD-Compact";
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_file"] = "SGDCompact.xml";
$CKEditor_config["width"] = "100%";
$CKEditor_config["height"] = "200px";
$CKEditor_config["docType"] = "<" ."!" ."DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">";
$CKEditor_config["contentsLanguage"] = "";
$CKEditor_config["dialog_startupFocusTab"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["fullPage"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["tabSpaces"] = 4;
$CKEditor_config["toolbar"] = array(
array( 'Source'),
array( 'Cut','Copy','Paste','PasteText','PasteFromWord','-','Print','SpellChecker','Scayt'),
array( 'Link','Unlink','Anchor'),
array( 'Bold','Italic','Underline','-','NumberedList','BulletedList'),
array( 'JustifyLeft','JustifyCenter','JustifyRight','JustifyBlock'));
$CKEditor_config["contentsLangDirection"] = "ltr";
$CKEditor_config["entities"] = false;
$CKEditor->editor("editorField", $CKEditor_initialValue, $CKEditor_config);
?>

This one does work properly while the one above causes the problem. note no manual changes in the problem one...

<?php
// The initial value to be displayed in the editor.
$CKEditor_initialValue = "".($Types->getColumnVal("typeDesc")) ."";
$CKEditor = new CKEditor();
$CKEditor->basePath = "../webassist/ckeditor/";
$CKEditor_config = array();
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_name"] = "TestSGD (custom)";
$CKEditor_config["wa_preset_file"] = "(custom)";
$CKEditor_config["width"] = "100%";
$CKEditor_config["height"] = "200px";
$CKEditor_config["docType"] = "<" ."!" ."DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd\">";
$CKEditor_config["contentsLanguage"] = "";
$CKEditor_config["dialog_startupFocusTab"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["fullPage"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["tabSpaces"] = 4;
$CKEditor_config["toolbar"] = array(
array( 'Source','-'),
array( 'Cut','Copy','Paste','PasteText','PasteFromWord','-','Print','SpellChecker','Scayt'),
array( 'Bold','Italic','Underline','Strike'),
array( 'NumberedList','BulletedList','-','Outdent','Indent','Blockquote'),
('/'),
array( 'Styles','Format','Font','FontSize'),
array( 'JustifyLeft','JustifyCenter','JustifyRight','JustifyBlock'),
array( 'TextColor','BGColor'));
$CKEditor_config["scayt_autoStartup"] = true;
$CKEditor_config["contentsLangDirection"] = "ltr";
$CKEditor_config["entities"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["pasteFromWordRemoveFontStyles"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["pasteFromWordRemoveStyles"] = false;
$CKEditor_config["stylesCombo_stylesSet"] = "my_styles:style_lists/stylelist1.js";
$CKEditor->editor("decription", $CKEditor_initialValue, $CKEditor_config);
?>

I can't see the issue... Can I get FTP access and a URL to reproduce?

This line automatically generated is causing the problem:

$CKEditor_config["docType"] = "<" ."!" ."DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">";

Use this one and it works as expected:

$CKEditor_config["docType"] = "<" ."!" ."DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd\">";

IF we escape the quotes like this it works:

$CKEditor_config["docType"] = "<" ."!" ."DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN\" \"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd\">";
