Emails Stopped Going Out

Ray,

The emails on this page used to go out but am being told that they stopped working. I'm not sure what was done here if this was me or not but I'm not seeing Universal Email in the Server Behaviors in order to even turn the debugging on. This is very important could you have a look at it for me please.

I saw that you had authentication details in your email settings, but didn't have your mail method set to "smtp". I added the method to line 61 of that file and I think that should have fixed the problem.

I saw a few come through but then when I tested I got nothing...

Curious. I see yours come through but when I do the test I never get the emails. Where are you doing this? On the live site yes? www?

I'm told it's working sporadically and not to the client. Perhaps we can rip it out and add it back? Would you know how to troubleshoot from cPanel if you needed too?

I'd have to see an example of one that doesn't work. Ripping it out and adding it back wouldn't change anything. The key is finding the problem before trying to fix it. Maybe a particular company doesn't work or particular entries in the form cause issues.

I suppose we could start logging the debug data for each email attempt to help debug it if you can't figure out the steps to reproduce. You could try to find the SMTP server logs to see if there is anything there. You are using an external smtp server, so I'm not sure if it is in your cPanel or if it is from another server entirely that handles your email.

None of my email addresses seem to work. I will add them below. I of course don't mind paying you for your time, I just have to get it working as quickly as possible. Also I changed the email server to the one the site is on with no luck.

It always seems to work in my tests. Make sure it isn't going into a spam folder. The email is being sent, it appears it might not be received for some reason. Post back if you discover the issue for future reference.
