'Type: text' for recordset variable not working

I am wanting to add a second variable to a recordset that will have its value determined by a URL parameter. the parameter will be "?status=Unpaid" so I need the variable to be a 'Text' type. but I get an error message ( Missing type for variable:status - Missing Run-Time Value for variable"status ) when trying to OK the recordset update. ( see screen shots in attachments )

How do use a variable here that has a text value?

Thanks in advance

You can't name the parameter the same name as a column that is in your SQL statement.

Try renaming your parameter to StatParam instead of just Status and this should work.
