date.timezone error after submitting an order

Hi,

I just changed hosts and are getting the error message about the system’s timezone setting after submitting an order (order goes through).

After researching other posts, I understand that the default timezone has to be set in the php.ini file by setting the value for date.timezone.

I did add this into the php.ini:

date.timezone = "US/Central"

but am still receiving the exact same error which is:

Warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected the timezone 'UTC' for now, but please set date.timezone to select your timezone. in /home/[main domain]/public_html/tedescohound.com/webassist/email/mail_php.php on line 187

What am I missing?

Thanks a lot,

You probably updated the wrong php.ini file.

Create a page with:

php:
<?php

phpinfo
();
?>

Then view the page and it will display the correct path to the loaded php.ini file and the timezone setting if set correctly.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

You were right Ray - since the domain is an add-on domain with the new host, the php.ini file in the subdomain took some time to populate I guess.

Thanks so much and you are the best as always.
