Dynamic Select Title Issue

When I create a dynamic Select with a default title to display on opening the form, the drop-down goes to the bottom (the last record) and does not display the Select title I want. How do I use the UI to configure my Select so the form opens with the title I want it to display and not the last record?

Please see attached screen grabs:

You have set the "Selected Value" to the same recordset value as the list is populated from. That will mean all rows are selected technically, and that will show the last row as being selected. To fix it, just update your code to:

php:
// <td width="73%" valign="top" bgcolor="#EFEFEF" class="textbody"><select name="Select Issue Title" id="Select Issue Title">

<option value="value"selected >Select Issue Title</option>
<?php
while(!$rsIssueTitle->atEnd()) { //dyn select
?>
<option value="<?php echo($rsIssueTitle->getColumnVal("IssueTitle")); ?>"><?php echo($rsIssueTitle->getColumnVal("IssueTitle")); ?></option>
<?php
$rsIssueTitle
->moveNext();
//dyn select
$rsIssueTitle->moveFirst();
?>
</select></td> //

See private message please...

Think I understand your reply after some study... I was filing in the "Select value equal to" dynamic and should have left it blank? Correct??

You should be able to just copy and paste my code to replace yours. What errors did you see?

You did it correctly, you just should have left the "Select value equal to" field blank. You had clicked the lightning bolt and set it to the same recordset and column that you used as the list values.
