Validations

I am trying to follow the tutorial at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-aybnIBEgA

My problem is that the tutorial is using a WA ecart form page and a confirm page. I am not using ECart so no confirm page

I wish to add a check box to a test page to submit a new check box selection to the database, with validation.

I followed the video instructions as far as I could but when the page is saved
I get an error message appearing near the Validation Show If </MM_REPEATEDREGION>

I attach the page code. Can you see where my mistake is please?
Thank you
John

That is because you have the </label> tag inside the show if but not the <label> tag. Just move the open tag inside and the error won't show.

Hello Ray
It appears that I have this page working OK now but when I look at the code
I seem to have LOA_Measure and Beam_Measure on lines 80 and 82 also
on lines95 and 96

The page seems to work with these duplications is it OK to leave them.
I tried deleting the bottom two but had validations going wrong.

I am attaching the code.

Many thanks
John

You have two columns in your database: Beam_Mesure and MeasureInBeam - LOA_Measure and MeasureInLOA

The repeated columns are the cause of the repeated post references since both columns are being set to the same value. You can probably ignore it and use one or the other, or delete one or the other and update the page so you don't have repeated data.

Thank you Ray for that explanation,
I notice not all the fields are listed in the areas line 12 to line 26 although they all seem present in lines 70 to line 97
I would be very interested to know what is the function of Lines 12 - 26.

I am attaching a list of the DBase field names for interest.
Regards
John

12-26 is the form validation code to make sure it has valid input. 72-97 inserts into the database if the validation doesn't fail.

Hello Ray
I decided to create a cut down page to enhance the
possibility of getting the validations to work correctly.

Mostly this page is working
Without a tick the database is not updated with a new entry.
With a tick the database is updated with a new entry.

However without a tick the "show if" message does not show.

Would you please have a look at the code attached to see what is
incorrect.
Many thanks
John

Please attach the page. It appears you may have forgotten to do that.

The code appears correct to me. Can I get FTP access and a URL to debug it directly? That should allow me to figure out what is going wrong. Maybe it is a CSS issue?
