password format - recognition

Hi

I want to link php pages to a drupal site.

The drupal site has a log on password setup with user levels.

The user name is "text" var char and the password is varchar but "It uses:

sha512, and also uses a salt for security sake. the actual function used for the hashing is: https://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/includes!password.inc/function/_passwo..."

If I setup security assist and point it at the drupal users table will security assist recognise the userpassword?

thanks

Ian

No. You would have to update the code to use the Drupal Encryption functions and salt manually for this to work.

Hi Ray

I'll bear that in mind.

So far I've input 75 parish records of baptism, marriage and burial into an access database. and my new project is to get it on the web.

Data assist has got my search working now it's down to the security issues.

I may well get back to you

cheers

Ian
