Deprecated Function

Hello WA,

I am using Powerstore in Dreamweaver CS3. I installed WAMP 2.0, which is suppose to make it easier to enter some 3000+ products in phpMyAdmin which my web host uses. Everything loaded fine. Once I made the connection to my database in Dreamweaver and checked to see that everything was connected, I received the error "deprecated function () split in CSSMenuWrite/menu.php. I am able to add products with no problem, just wondering if I will have a problem when I upload back to my hosting server?

That is a warning that can be turned off. It won't effect functionality. We will be updating our tools and solutions to avoid those functions in the future, but for now the errors can be effectively ignored and removed through the php.ini.

how to edti ini file

Ray,

I am having the same issue...

"but for now the errors can be effectively ignored and removed through the php.ini. "

Please advise me on how to edit (or turn off) the error function. I don't want to damage the ini file. Can you be more specific as to exactly what I change?

Thanks so much,

Lisa Segal

edti ini file

Dear Ray,
Was your last reply in response to my question of what to change in my php.ini file? If I was not clear, I want to know exactly what error message I need to turn off and how? So again, please respond to your quote:
"but for now the errors can be effectively ignored and removed through the php.ini"

Please share with me exactly what to change and how in the php.ini file. I did take a peek at the link and it does not clear anything up for me, it only confused me.

just remove E_DEPRECATED from your error_reporting section in your php.ini file.

e_deprecated error

Dear Ray,

I followed your instructions to:
"just remove E_DEPRECATED from your error_reporting section in your php.ini file." from my php.ini file with NO luck.

I copied the original contents from my php.ini file and created this phpCopy.ini file. Could you please make the necessary edits to my ini file and send it back to me? I have lost another day of work due to this issue. Also, I added a copy of php support site with regards to this error, and this bug. I am not experienced enough with this code to understand the discussion, or the solution.

In case you need the actual error message:
"Deprecated: Function split() is deprecated in C:\wamp\www\handsomehound\powerstore2\CSSMenuWriter\cssmw_home\menu.php on line 16".

I have a meeting at 1:00pm on Monday with my mentor. I cannot proceed with him unless this situation is corrected. Could your make the necessary edits by 1:00pm est?

Regards,

Lisa

You can specifically remove depricated errors like:

error_reporting(E_ALL & ~ E_DEPRECATED);

can you make the necessary edits to my ini file?

Dear Ray,

I made your suggested edits with no success. Could we set up a time to talk via phone to help resolve this issue?

Regards,

Lisa
