I've fixed the issues introduced in CC 2017 where database and bindings panels were broken. I've also included the database and server behaviors functionality so that they don't have to be installed separately.

the changes made do they address the issues preventing the the conversion of DB to use mysqli if so how long do you think it will take for general release

We are still working on an upgrade to Data Bridge to include MySQLi. These updates were just to fix the broken database and bindings panel in CC 2017 and 2018

If i don't plan to go to cc2017 or cc2018 I don't need to install update

That is correct. Although there are some improvements to the database panel including a quick view to see the data in the database and some minor efficiency improvements in both the database and bindings panel. But if you are happy with your current installation there is no real reason to update if you aren't moving to the latest CC versions.

My web host has now discontinued the deprecated MySQL interface, and requires the MySQLi interface. This breaks my web site which uses Data Bridge. "He's dead, Jim." How close are we to having a Data Bridge release that works with the MySQLi behaviors?

I am working on it now. I have to go back and integrate in the updates that fix the Dreamweaver database and bindings panels and then finish the MySQLi integration. I can't give a timeline.
