reconfiguring navigation

hey Ray

Have had to rejig a current live website as the client no longer wants to have sub categories within the nav / shopping system.

At the moment, there are 3 pages;

top level category (shop_category_resuts_s.php)
sub category (shop_products_results_s.php)
product detail (shop_product_details_s.php)

The current htaccess mod rerwite is as follows:
RewriteRule ^shop/(.*)$ shop_category_results_s.php?perm=$1 [NC,L,QSA,T=application/x-httpd-php]
RewriteRule ^shop/(.*)/(.*)$ shop_product_results_s.php?sub=$1&perm=$2 [NC,L,QSA,T=application/x-httpd-php]
RewriteRule ^shop/(.*)/(.*)/(.*)$ shop_product_details_s.php?perm=$3&cat=$2&parent=$1 [NC,L,QSA,T=application/x-httpd-php]

So basically I have to display the products on shop_category_resuts_s.php and then link them to the relevant product detail.

The former issue I have done, but I cant get the product details page to dispolay the relevant product detail and cant see why not. It is just showing page not found content which seems to be on the page that is no longer required.

I have modified the mod rewrite for the product details page to ^shop/(.*)/(.*)$ and that doesnt help....

Help!!!!

Cheers

p.s. pages are attached

I'll definitely need to see this one live. We may even need a support ticket to debug it since there are so many moving parts.

When I look at your .htaccess rule for shop_product_results.php I see:

RewriteRule ^shop/(.*)/(.*)$ shop_product_results_s.php?sub=$1&perm=$2 [NC,L,QSA,T=application/x-httpd-php]

So you are passing the url parameters "sub" and "perm"

but when I look on lines 56-57 of that page you are filtering your recordset with "id" and "perm"

That mismatch has to be the root of the problem.

Thanks Ray and take your point. The thing is that the 'target' page is shop_product_details_s.php (not shop_product_results_s.php). I appreciate that the filter will be wrong nonetheless.....but not sure what to change and where

The link I clicked when I got the error only had two slashes after the shop folder... so it matched the rewrite rule for the shop_product_results_s.php page.

So either the link is wrong or the rule is wrong if it was supposed to take me to the details page.

The link doesn't work for me anymore... under construction, so I couldn't take another look.

Your IP must have changed. Do you have time to take a look with a prem later today?
