Unspecified Error when creating connection

Unspecified Error when creating connection

I think I've exhausted every possibility with this one.

The MySQL database is correct and third party apps can connect to and read it with the user and password that gives this error in CS6.

I've used both local and remote site as testing server and still cannot connect to the database. Pages without database content display correctly when page is on localhost or remote but pages with database content only display when testing server is remote.

I'm reduced to writing MySQL code directly into the page and previewing on the remote server which is not very productive. Have I missed something?

Regards
Malcolm

It is probably an issue with the site URL field in your dreamweaver testing server site definition.

Unspecified Error when creating connection

I've got round the problem by connecting as root which is not ideal as I then have to change the connection for the live site by editing the connection code manually. It is definitely not a user password error as I said in my first posting.

I have an observation. As a developer you should have to option to make passwords visible when setting up the connection to avoid re-typeing the password several times to be sure you haven't done something stupid like leave the caps lock on.

Have you any suggestions?
