Multiple Insert issue

Multiple Insert issue

I have a page with an multiple insert that just needs to insert values into two fields - but one doesn't seem to be inserting.

I've looked at anything obvious for typos, wrong references, but can't see what's wrong.

Probably something I should have spotted, but haven't...

I have attached a copy of the page here.

Thanks for having a look.

It looks like you have edited the code by hand to set the voelu of the ItineraryIDPL field to $EnquiryID on line 300. However, the value of $EnquiryID isn't set anywhere on the page.

Thanks Ray - see it now. Should have been $ItineraryID, which hadn't been set either - added that and its all working now.

Hi iain331081:
I just had a client ask for this and I am totally lost where to begin.
Working on a back end admin for entering information into database. Only 2 fields needed. However, she needs to enter 30 at a time, so doing one by one is annoying. So I want to set up the WA Insert page to contain 10 or so to populate the database. If you don't mind, can you point me in the right direction? I tried putting the information field into a table, and then tried the repeat table in WA, but that didn't work. I tried, just duplicating the two fields and that didn't work. I can't apply the repeat region as that needs to reconnect, so I'm at a loss. Any help you can give me would be so very appreciated.

Updated: I found the tutorial and learned quite a bit concept-wise. That is helpful but I haven't yet learned the relationship of the insert page to the form submission sample in the tutorial. And just trying to use a form, I haven't been successful in populating the database, but at least I'm closer.

Yes, I was going to point you to the tutorial. If you are close and just stuck, post your page here and I can take a look to see if I can spot what you are doing wrong. FTP information and a URL to reproduce is an even better option to let me debug your issue.

If all else fails and you are in a hurry, I can help you get this done in a premier support ticket.

Thanks Ray. I was just working with a test one, not the actual. I will start fresh tomorrow with it. But one hint please: Do I use the "insert" DA page as the start, or just make a new page with a simple form and apply all the steps to that, as the tutorial shows? I used the test one and thought I had it right, but the data never got to the database. But I'll try again.

Thanks!

I'd follow the tutorial directly instead of using the DA insert page.

I'm glad it worked out. Multiple updates and inserts are a bit confusing, which is why we created the tutorial, but once you do a few you can get the hang of it.
